Maths game of the week

Click here to try out this great maths game to improve your times tables!

Science!

A big part of being a scientist involves testing and observation. This week we are collecting large, clear bottles, such as Pump or Soda bottles, in order to make a device that will help us measure rainfall. If you have any on hand, please make sure they are clean, and then bring them in to school.

We are also going to be out and about around the school, observing conditions that could potentially lead to flooding. It would be best if all students came with a raincoat or umbrella and suitable shoes.

We are learning to become bucket fillers.

Reports

This week we are writing a factual report on a topic of our choice.

Topics that people have chosen so far include:
  • The Titanic
  • Pokemon
  • My Family
  • Me
  • Cats
  • Sharks
  • Fidget Spinners
  • Books
We will be talking about our topics at home so we come armed with plenty of facts to write about!

Developing our construction and sculpture skills

What are we learning about in maths?

Parents, you may be curious what your child is learning about in maths at the moment.
Ask your child which stage they are working at, then check out this link to see which key strategies I will be teaching them at the moment.
Right now we are working on Addition and Subtraction.
